Kenyan content creator Crazy Kennar has explained what led to his split with the original team behind Tales of Crazy Kennar.
The group started in 2017. And it consisted of Yvonne Khisa, Stanley Omondi, Useful Idioty, Shiro, and Bushra. Together, they created funny skits that helped make Crazy Kennar one of Kenya’s top content creators.
In a recent interview with Oga Obinna, Kennar shared how the team formed when they were in university. He picked people who were willing to learn and give their best, even though they didn’t all come from art backgrounds.
“We started as a close-knit group with good chemistry,” Kennar said.
As the group became more popular, Kennar took the lead in directing and writing the skits. He also pushed the team to develop new skills in content creation. He even organized training sessions to help them grow.
But over time, the members’ goals began to change. Kennar wanted everyone to focus on building individual skills, but not everyone agreed with this vision.
“Our goals began to shift. I tried to help everyone develop new skills, but we started to lose our compatibility,” Kennar explained.
Despite his efforts to keep the group on the same path, the team eventually drifted apart because their ambitions no longer aligned.
“We could not progress together anymore, and that led to the split,” Kennar said.
Still, Kennar is proud of the work they did together and happy to see everyone finding their own success.
“What motivates me is knowing that everyone is doing well now, whether things ended well or not,” he said.
