The government has officially launched a nationwide ID registration campaign focused on secondary school students who have reached the age of 18.
Led by the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services via the National Registration Bureau (NRB), this initiative seeks to ensure that eligible students obtain their IDs before graduating from high school.

In an official notice to educators dated May 29, Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok emphasized that the registration process is essential for enabling students easier access to higher education, employment opportunities, and financial support like HELB loans.
“The State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services, through the National Registration Bureau (NRB), plans to carry out a mobile National ID registration drive targeting eligible secondary school students during the current (second) school term (May–August 2025),” the statement partly read.
