Interested applicants are urged to review the full job descriptions, eligibility criteria, and application procedures on the JSC’s official website. All applications must be submitted by June 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
The JSC emphasized in its notice:
“All applications should reach the Commission not later than June 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted. Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.”
This recruitment drive follows a gazette notice issued on June 3, 2025, by Chief Justice Martha Koome, formally declaring vacancies in the Court of Appeal, High Court, and ELC.
The CJ stated:
“Pursuant to Section 30 of the Judicial Service Act and Section 3, Part II of the First Schedule of the Judicial Service Act, 2011, I, Martha Karambu Koome, Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya, for and on behalf of the Judiciary of Kenya, declare vacancies in the Office of Judge of the Court of Appeal of the Republic of Kenya.”
The announcement marks a significant step forward for the Judiciary, nearly a year after recruitment activities were put on hold due to budget cuts that slashed judicial funding by at least 15%. At the time, Chief Justice Koome noted that the reductions had forced the Judiciary to prioritize only the most critical and essential services.
