MUKURU KWA NJENGA VOLUNTEER HAILED AS A HERO, ERIC OMONDI AND SAKAJA OFFER TO HELP HIM

The ongoing recovery operation at the Kware quarry has unearthed a harrowing tale of human loss and the extraordinary courage of ordinary citizens. While the exact number of victims remains a subject of dispute, the selfless actions of volunteers like Kyallo Jilani Wambua have captured the nation’s attention.

Wambua, a casual laborer, has risked his life multiple times to retrieve bodies from the contaminated quarry. His bravery is emblematic of the many volunteers who have stepped up to assist in this grim task. Despite promises of employment in recognition of his skills, Wambua remains unemployed.

ERIC OMONDI STEPS IN

Comedian Eric Omondi has decided to come through for the volunteer. Through his ‘sisi kwa sisi’ foundation, he urged Kenyans to contribute to the lad and his friends, who were also present in helping him.

Eric Omondi thanked him for his bravery in retrieving the bodies.

SAKAJA COMES THROUGH

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has pledged to reward and recognize the volunteers for their heroic efforts. However, the situation is further complicated by discrepancies in the number of bodies and body parts recovered. While the Nairobi Funeral Home reports eight bodies and 12 body parts, police and other sources have provided differing figures.
