The National Youth Service (NYS) has revealed 60 job openings in Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates, specifically aimed at NYS graduates.
In a statement released on Wednesday, June 4, NYS said the roles are for trained fabricators, with a starting monthly salary of Ksh 51,087.
“The National Youth Service Employment Liaison Office is excited to announce job placements in Dubai, UAE, for skilled fabricators,” the statement read.
It continued: “This is a great opportunity to work with reputable employers, gain valuable international experience, and earn a competitive income.”
The selected candidates will be tasked with creating, planning, and executing fabrication processes. They will also work alongside design engineers to ensure production designs are efficient and practical.
The recruiting company is a top fabrication firm in Dubai that specializes in steelwork, industrial structures, ship repairs, and rigging. They are seeking NYS-trained fabricators who are ready to sharpen their skills in a global setting.
Applicants must hold a diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field. In addition, they should have completed a course in welding and fabrication, mechanical production, or another metalwork-related discipline.
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, as the role requires strong communication skills for effective teamwork in a multicultural environment.
Candidates must also be capable of reading and understanding technical blueprints and engineering drawings.
A valid passport is required to travel. However, for applicants who pass the selection process but do not yet have one, NYS will help expedite the passport application.
NYS reaffirmed its commitment to linking its graduates with career opportunities both within Kenya and internationally.
