The National Police Service (NPS) has called for the immediate arrest of Samuel Muchoki, famously known as Samidoh, a well-known Mugithi musician and police officer, due to alleged desertion of duty.
According to NPS officials, Samidoh has not reported to his assigned post since May 27, 2025, after being transferred to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) in Gilgil. His absence from the new station for more than 10 days has led to disciplinary measures being taken.
The police also revealed that Samidoh’s salary has been suspended, as he is reportedly in the United States on a music tour without obtaining formal permission from the police service.
A police report, signed by the commandant of the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) and reviewed by Kenyans.co.ke, confirmed that Samidoh did not return to duty on May 27, 2025, following the expiration of his official leave.
The report states: “Please be informed that No. 247569/2013040010 APC Samuel Ndirangu Muchoki of the Anti-Stock Theft Unit ‘MTD’ Company is under the subject of this report. The officer was granted leave and was expected to resume duty on 27/05/2025, but he failed to do so.
“Since then, he has not been seen, and his current whereabouts remain unknown. Attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful. He has now been absent without leave for over 10 days and is officially declared a deserter effective from 06/06/2025.”
